Don’t Miss Opening Day at Old World Wisconsin—and Be Sure to Bring Mom Along!
May 6, 2016 | wimmer
Every summer, Old World Wisconsin reopens for the season, bringing its fun, hands-on approach to history back to Eagle for families to enjoy. This year, Opening Day coincides with Mother's Day, making for a weekend-long celebration. It begins with the first day the park opens on May 7 and continues with a buffet-style Mother's Day brunch the morning of May 8.
You can explore the museum/theme park either day. It consists of a collection of more than 60 structures from, unsurprisingly, Old World Wisconsin. That is, they date back to early life in Eagle, long before the town itself even existed. Part farm, part village, the all-encompassing museum teaches visitors how life operated long ago, when locals actually had to rely on their own land and barnyard animals for sustenance. So bring your brood here to learn more about the ins and outs of life in Old World Wisconsin with the help of interactive "exhibits" and actors in character, or just swing by for the special Mother's Day to celebrate your family's matriarch.
