No Plans for the Weekend? Enjoy Behind-the-Scenes Tours (for Free!) During Doors Open Milwaukee

How well do you really know your city? Get reacquainted with Milwaukee during Doors Open Milwaukee, a citywide event returning for its sixth year this weekend, Sept. 17-18. Presented by Historic Milwaukee, Inc., this two-day event showcases Milwaukee's "art, architecture and the built environment" via open houses at more than 150 venues and sites across the city.

Here's how it works: First, you create your own itinerary, adding whichever venues pique your interest, from the Historic Pabst Brewery and Frank Lloyd Wright’s American System-Built Homes to the Clock Shadow Building and the Milwaukee Theatre. Then, simply show up at each venue between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to learn more about what makes the building unique (some venues are even offering free guided tours!). Be sure to share you experience on social media using the hashtag #DOMKE!
