Viva Itacate: Mexican Food in Spring, Texas

Fans of this sweet little bakery and sandwich shop love their take on traditional fare. It’s a primo place to stop by in the a.m. for a cup of their specialty blend coffee and a delectable pastry. Options include Bocales – corn pastries filled with a variety of ingredients, and Coronitas – a filled croissant-like pastry that fans compare to the Cronut, which is a cross between a donut and a croissant.

Their Empanadas are tasty little turnovers filled with yummy ingredients like spinach & cheese, beef, almonds & raisins, chorizo & beans, and ham & cheese. Tortas – sandwiches served on a toasted roll, are also on the menu. Choose from Torta Itacate – pork loin, Pollinita – chicken, and Ternera – veal.

Viva Itacate is open Tuesday through Sunday.

Conveniently located in Spring, Texas, the Italian Café is a welcoming Italian restaurant that's family-owned and operated. Come in and have a glass of wine while you look over the menu that features classic dishes. If you’re in the mood for pizza, the Italian Café has small, medium, and large pies for any person or group. Try one of the special pies, or create your own! Every entrée comes with delicious garlic bread and a salad with delicious house dressing. The pasta, chicken, and veal dishes will make you want to come back for more. The Italian Café is open Tuesdays through Saturdays for dinner, and Sundays for lunch and dinner.

White Flamingo: Elegant & Original

Head to White Flamingo. Although it’s located in a strip mall, the elegant Victorian-style decor will blow you away. Tables are set with white linens and fresh flowers, and there is live piano music on Friday and Saturday nights, making it perfect for a romantic date. Meals start with complementary cheese-topped bread that customers love just as much as their entrees. The menu offers lunch sandwiches, full size pasta entrees, and an array of fish, steaks, and chops. Try the Cajun seared Mahi Mahi and the Chicken Alfredo. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and prices are quite reasonable for the quality and portion. White Flamingo also has several private rooms that can accommodate wedding receptions and other celebrations.
