Go Green: How to Decorate with Cacti and Succulents
May 10, 2016 | desouzabrown
If you're at all savvy about interior design, then you know that cacti and succulents are all over the design blogs and catalogs right now. These eye-catching plants come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors, and they add an organic, architectural vibe to any room. Better still, these plants are low maintenance and easy to grow (even for not-so-green thumbs!). Follow these unique tips to decorate your space with cacti and succulents!
- Create a centerpiece. Use a unique container and plant two or three different types or sizes of succulents and cacti. You can even make your own terrarium using a glass cloche, fish bowl, jar, or other vessel.
- Make a wreath. Who says wreaths are just for holidays? Gather some succulents, a wire wreath frame, and some pins to assemble a wreath worthy of year-round display. Hang it on your door or display the wreath on a wall.
- Plant them in a hanging basket. This will help add drama, height, and texture to a corner in your indoor space.
- Make a succulent chandelier. Use a pot rack as a surface for potted succulents and jarred candles. As the tails of the plants grow, they will cascade over the side of the rack to create a stunning display.
