This Weekend, the Gettysburg Anniversary Reenactment Returns for 2016!
June 27, 2016 | desouzabrown
Calling all local history buffs: This weekend marks the 153rd Gettysburg Anniversary Reenactment! An annual event organized by the Gettysburg Anniversary Committee (GAC), the reenactment is held on July 1-3 every year—the same three-day span of the actual Battle of Gettysburg in 1863!
Period music, costumed reenactors, encampments, and more are all part of this living history event. The schedule of events spans storytelling to battle strategy discussions, with the highlight being, of course, the reenactments of the battles fought in Gettysburg. Different battles will be reenacted each day, followed by live mortar fire demonstrations.
Thinking of attending? The 153rd Gettysburg Anniversary Reenactment takes place upon a large expanse of land adjacent to Gettysburg National Military Park. You can purchase tickets online via the event website!
