Dedham Public Library: A Historic Library Full of Local Resources

March 5, 2015 | greystar

Dedham area residents love the Dedham Public Library for its quiet atmosphere, lack of crowds, and an impressive selection of books both new and old. The library itself was built in 1886 in a Southern French style using Dedham pink granite with sandstone trim, which makes it a historic and inspiring place to curl up with a good book.

Over the years, the library has expanded to include a children’s wing, the Church Street entrance, and the Endicott Branch. The library’s Dedham Historical Collection houses books, manuscripts, and historical documents relating to the history of Dedham. New releases, classic works of literature, and resource textbooks are also available at the library, and there is even a small selection of used books for sale for $1 or less.

The Dedham Public Library is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
