The Early Bird Gets the Breakfast Burrito at Titas Taco House

June 26, 2015 3:09 pm

When cravings for Mexican cuisine hit early in the morning, Houston area early birds flock to Titas Taco House, arguably the most beloved Mexican fare eatery in Humble.

It’s hard to miss the bright blue exterior of Titas Taco House, which features a small porch for al fresco dining and a bright red sign welcoming guests in with a “Bienvenidos.” Another sign you're in the right spot? The line of hungry early risers, all of whom arrive at Titas for delicious breakfast tacos stuffed with chorizo, potatoes, peppers, eggs, or bacon. Along with breakfast foods, the tortillas can also come stuffed with such foods as pork, steak, or chicken mole with yellow rice. The corn and flour tortillas are freshly made daily, hand rolled in the restaurant.

Titias Taco House is open 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

Children’s Museum of Houston: Making Playtime an Adventure in Learning

June 26, 2015 11:07 am

The Children’s Museum of Houston is a fun-filled museum designed especially for the little ones, but that doesn’t mean adults won’t enjoy it, too. This self-described “playground for your mind” features a number of hands-on exhibits that teach kids about science and how the world works, and they’re always bright, colorful and tailored toward children.

The How Does it Work? exhibit, for example, is a room filled with a mishmash of smaller exhibits like the Communication Speedway that shows how messages travel through fiberoptic wires. The Science Station is a 3D model of many of the most important scientific concepts, while the Building Zone provides hours of construction fun for the smallest architects and builders. The fast-paced Cyberchase is a game that turns kids on to the mathematics involved in computer programming.

Perhaps best of all, the Children’s Museum of Houston offers affordable admission and ample parking outside.

If you’re looking for a great breakfast spot in Houston, locals will likely point you in the direction of Baby Barnaby’s Cafe.
