Mainly Drinks: Drinks and More

Mainly Drinks offers a little something to every diner. While the name implies an emphasis on liquid concoctions, there is also a great selection of food thanks to executive Chef Robert Hicks. Mainly Drinks offers so many great teas and coffees, as well as many fantastic micro brews and boutique wines. Lunch and dinner services abound with so many great selections you may find it hard to choose. Ceviche includes citrus marinated shrimp and tuna dressed in spicy plum sauce. The sausage sampler plates offer a heartier selection of pre meal eats, while the cheese plate pairs beautifully with a great bottle of wine. Sandwiches and wraps feature all kinds of goodies, from fire roasted veggies to spicy chicken salad, while flat bread pizzas feature an array of gourmet goodies atop crispy flat bread. Entrees include tilapia stuffed with spinach and roasted red pepper, while the beef tenderloin is topped with a mushroom demi-glace.

La Porte Hike & Bike Trail: On the Road

Outdoor enthusiasts will love the La Porte Hike & Bike Trail. Traverse La Porte via bike thanks to this winding trail, stemming from Eastern La Porte all the way across the city, from the Fairmont Parkway to Little Cedar Bayou Park. The park features a multi-use recreation area complete with sporting fields and other facilities. What better way to see the scenic city of La Porte than on bicycle? Not only is it a fun ride, but it is good for you too. Whether you are attempting the entire trail or merely just a portion of it, you will find it a challenging enterprise. Eventually the trail will expand to include many more locales.

From the super friendly staff to excellent dishes, you are sure to fall in love with all Gringo’s has to offer. Happy hour specials include many fantastic drink specials, including margaritas, draft beers, and many fantastic small plates perfect for dining at the bar. These include barbecue pork quesadillas with a great smoky flavor, mini empanadas with your choice of meat, and a sampler platter of Mexican favorites. Entrees at Gringo’s feature just as many good eats. House favorites include fish tacos with chipotle mayo, Andouille sausage in a tasty sauce served on a grilled chicken breast, and roasted peppers stuffed with seasoned ground beef. There are even a few non-Mexican items, including fried chicken breasts, juicy burgers, and the so-called Amazon wrap replete with chicken and fresh veggies.
