Fill Up on Bread and Pastries at the LeBus Bakery Outlet

LeBus Bakery Outlet offers a wide variety of artisan baked goods at a discounted price. Each loaf of bread, each pastry, and each roll is made by hand with the finest of fresh and natural ingredients. The selection of breads available includes table breads, sandwich breads, baguettes, boules, sandwich and dinner rolls, bagels, and breadsticks and twists. The selection of pastries includes croissants, muffins, Danishes, scones, cookies, brownies, and sweet loaves. Patrons love the chocolate croissants, the bread bowls, and the Hawaiian rolls. The prices are reasonable. You may also call ahead to place a large order for pickup.

LeBus also has sandwiches and salads available daily in a fridge towards the front of the store. Patrons love the chicken salad on raisin bread, and the fresh salads. LeBus Bakery Outlet is open Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Peanut Gallery Tavern: A Friendly Norristown Pub

There’s something comforting about a neighborhood pub – it can serve as a gathering place for times both happy and sad, and endure through generations. A great example is Norristown’s Peanut Gallery Tavern. This family-owned watering hole has been open since 1974, originally named the Cork and Crown. In 1992, its name was changed to the Peanut Gallery to reflect the owner’s lifetime love of peanuts. The second generation took over in 2005 and has been continuing the pub’s mission of good drinks, good food and friendly service. This place has a serious contingent of locals, but they happily welcome new faces. The jukebox is kept loud and the pool tables in the back are usually packed. The food is pretty standard pub grub, but their Buffalo wings are nice and spicy. The beer selection is decent, with some local microbrews on offer, and the bartenders mix inexpensive, strong cocktails. There’s nothing fancy about the Peanut Gallery, but they take care of business quite well.

Sip a Craft Brew, Eat from the Taco Truck at the Plymouth Meeting Whole Foods

Whole Foods Market is an American supermarket chain that started in Texas in 1980. Whole Foods specializes in organic, fresh and quality foods. Opening in January of 2010, the Plymouth Meeting location is now the largest Whole Foods in the Philadelphia area.

What’s different about this Whole Foods? To start it offers the luxury of serving fresh, cold beer locally brewed from their Cold Point Pub. In addition to the pub, the markets offers a walk-in refrigerator full of craft beers. After enjoying a beer, you can venture up to the rooftop deck for some tacos from the taco truck.

Known for its vast inventory of groceries, Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting also offers grocery delivery. The Plymouth Meeting Whole Foods is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Norristown Public Library: Where Education Meets Recreation in Norristown
