The Colonial Theatre harkens back to the days when the cinema was a magical experience for viewers. A good mix of newly released and classic films is rounded out by a decent number of live events. In addition to showing features, The Colonial’s classic and cult film selections allow viewers to see movies on the big screen that they have missed on the first time around. Some movies are meant to be experienced this way and The Colonial makes that possible. The snack prices are beyond reasonable as well. Forget that sticker shock one feels at a big chain cinema where a tub of popcorn and a soda can cost as much as a three course meal. Nestology: Hatch Your Creativity

One of the most interesting local retail businesses in King of Prussia is Nestology, a store devoted to showcasing the work of regional designers, artists and craftsmen. If you’ve been shopping at the King of Prussia Mall but you couldn’t find exactly what you wanted, a stop in here might be just what the doctor ordered. Opened in 2009, the store started as a seasonal pop-up shop and made the transition into a full-time store the next year. Walk in the door and you’ll immediately be overcome by the sheer variety of merchandise here – clothing, home décor, antiques and more, all grouped by artist and priced incredibly reasonably. Some favorites from recent visits include amazing vintage Polaroid land cameras, men’s shirts from Commonwealth Proper, women’s wear from Nicole Fisher and much more. The King of Prussia area has a remarkably diverse local arts scene, and this is one of the best places to sample it.

Movie Tavern: Dinner and a Movie

The typical date is usually dinner and movie right? Well, the Movie Tavern in Collegeville has both. Experience the top blockbusters while enjoying a delicious meal of casual dining fare. Ticket prices are on par with normal theaters. Arrive early to get a good seat in the stadium style theater with big, comfy chairs. Each chair has a cup holder and swing out tray to hold your tasty meal. A waiter will come around to each seat to take your order of food, soda, beer, wine, cocktails, or just a bowl of popcorn. The menu has a selection of burgers, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers like quesadillas and spicy fried pickles. Drink specials are usually based on the top movie of the moment. A little before the movie ends the wait staff will come around to drop off the check which can be a little disconcerting if you're not used to it.
