The Perry Family YMCA connects people of all ages and backgrounds and truly brings the community together. With a reputation of being a clean and safe place to work out, this particular YMCA has plenty of newer machines that are well maintained. What's more, the Y offers different kinds of group classes, from Zumba and Tae Bo to Boot Camp and Pilates. Swimming instruction is also offered here.

The Perry Family YMCA also offers safe childcare for children while you work out at no extra cost, which is really convenient. They also have several programs for children for you to take advantage of, as well.

Members say this YMCA is never too crowded, so there’s always equipment available to use. There’s also a place to get fresh smoothies so you can grab a healthy snack while leaving the gym!

Blast Off at Space Center Houston

People of all ages are interested in the wonders of outer space, and now you can get a close-up look at what it’s really like to live and work in space at Space Center Houston. This is the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center, which means that visitors will get an inside take on what NASA astronauts and scientists are really working on in real time.

The 183,000-square-foot museum and “educational entertainment complex” boasts a staggering 17 million visitors in the time since its opening, and it aims to make learning about science fun for visitors from all around the world and at any age. It contains more than 400 real space artifacts, like moon rocks and lunar samples, as well as other traveling exhibits related to space flight. Visitors can even tour the real NASA Mission Control and take in an educational film at one of the many state-of-the-art theaters.

League Park: All Aboard

A train caboose might seem like an odd feature for a park, but it fits right in at League Park. After all, the community park resides right along the railroad tracks that once conveyed trains from Houston to Galveston, so the car pays homage to the rich history of the area. Ms. Monkey’s Emporium: Gourmet Popcorn That Doesn’t Monkey Around

This gourmet popcorn cafe is furnished with wild leopard print upholstery, a throne in one corner, and even two real live monkeys that wander the shop. Ms. Monkey’s popcorn comes in sweet flavors like raspberry, cherry vanilla, and buttery cinnamon toast, as well as savory flavors like pizza and Texas ranch. In addition to its popcorn, the cafe serves made-from-scratch monkey bread and espresso drinks for an added dose of caffeine. This isn’t your typical coffee shop or cafe, but that’s just what makes Ms. Monkey’s Emporium so much fun.
