A hidden gem in Leesburg, Wishbone Rotisserie brings a taste of Peru to northern Virginia. The restaurant’s menu is simple and focuses mostly on its signature item, chicken. Wishbone’s chicken comes off the rotisserie after being cooked to perfection over hot charcoal. Before cooking, the chicken is rubbed with Peruvian spices, and it's served with a creamy yellow sauce on the side. Customers can choose between half or whole chickens with a choice of traditional side dishes like plantains, yucca, or beans. Regulars praise Wishbone’s low prices and rotisserie combo deals. In addition to the rotisserie chicken, a small handful of steak and seafood entrees like ceviche and soltado offer variety. Charcoal Kabob House: Tasty Mediterranean Fare

Just a short trip from BLVD l Loudoun Station in Herndon, Charcoal Kabob House is a Mediterranean restaurant that is famous among regulars for its signature kabobs. The tender lamb kabob seems to be the favorite kabob, but Charcoal Kabob offers other quality meat selections like chicken and beef. If you order a kabob, you also get vegetable curry, freshly baked naan bread, Basmati rice, and a salad. The prices may be a bit high, but you’re getting a large portion of authentic, quality food. Customers rave about the perfectly seasoned chickpea side and creamy, refreshing yogurt dip. A twenty-minute wait is common for Charcoal Kabob, but the cooks prepare dishes with a tandoor and use hickory charcoal (hence the name!) for an authentic, healthy taste. If you don’t have a lot of time, skip the kabob and instead choose the curry. It's all worth the wait!

Thai Luang: Herndon Thai Cuisine

At Thai Luang Restaurant, you’re instantly greeted with a smile and a staff that's eager to help. Start with one of its two imported bottled beers or a Thai iced tea, which are all refreshing while you’re enjoying some spicy food. Its signature dish is the crispy duck with sweet basil stir fried with garlic and chili sauce. For $20, it’s a large portion, so it’s best to share with a friend. Be wary of the level of spiciness though — the heat is increased here, so ‘Thai hot’ means very hot! Lunchtime is a busy time for Thai Luang, so you might encounter a short wait. Lunch comes with a traditional spicy lemongrass soup and a spring roll and along with your entrée, that is plenty of food to enjoy.
