Willi’s Wine Bar: Small Plates and Wine Flights in Santa Rosa
September 16, 2014 | sack
Willi's Wine Bar is a roadhouse-styled bar and restaurant that's been earning raves from Sonoma County diners (and the press!) since the eatery opened in 2002. Owners Mark and Terri Stark have built a little empire in the area with a number of eateries. Willi’s was the first, and it’s maintained a standard of quality and service that has never faltered.
The menu here is diverse, and regulars note that everything is worth trying. Start your meal with a small plate, such as the skillet-roasted shrimp with Fresno chiles, lemon, and garlic, or opt for the sweet pea and cheddar macaroni and cheese served with smoked ham hock. Don’t miss the roasted bone marrow with toasted brioche and red onion marmalade; it might be Willi’s most popular dish, for good reason. The wine selection also wins raves from locals, with cleverly composed flights letting you sample varietals and vintages from all over the world.
