Don’t Miss the Baked Lobster Roll at Sushiko

November 11, 2014 | sack

The Bay Area obviously has no shortage of sushi restaurants, so it takes a lot for one to stand out. Rohnert Park locals are fiercely loyal to Sushiko, which occupies a nondescript strip mall spot on Commerce Boulevard. Step in the door and you’ll find yourself in a stylish oasis with attentive service and sleek, simple decor. The menu is extensive, covering both traditional preparations and more Americanized dishes.

Start off with the savory garlic edamame, which pairs well with a beer. Nigiri is expertly prepared, with generous pieces of fish expertly cut and positioned over seasoned rice. For more innovative preparations, Sushiko’s baked lobster roll can’t be beat. It pairs sweet, tender shellfish with eel sauce and sesame seeds to create an irresistible bite. The hot dishes are quality as well, with the tempura udon a popular option. Leave room for dessert—Sushiko’s green tea ice cream is a dense, savory delight.
