Jackson’s Bar and Oven: Casual Wine Country Cuisine

This restaurant isn't chef-owner Josh Silvers's first endeavor. Jackson's Bar and Oven is the sequel to his already successful Petite Syrah, a Santa Rosa eatery serving what he calls "urban wine country dining." At Jackson's—named for his son—Chef Josh recreates wine country fare with a simpler, more casual style, using the restaurant's wood-fired oven as his main tool.

Truffle fries and mixed mushrooms pizza are two of the lighter dishes you'll find on Jackson's menu—and two of the most popular among regular customers. The small servings make dishes perfect for sharing, and leave enough room for a pour from the popular wine list or an artisanal cocktail. But if your appetite demand something a bit more substantial, Silvers and his kitchen staff also craft full-sized entrees including fish tacos and braised short ribs.
