Elf explores New York City and the March sisters navigate life as Little Women at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center this year. The theater isn't far from Crossbrook, which means a trip here for one of the holiday performances should be relatively easy, even if you're bringing the kids along for the ride.

Little Women: The Musical runs from Nov. 27 to Dec. 20, telling the time-tested tale of Louisa May Alcott's four sisters through song. Follow along as they navigate life with their father away at war, interlaced with the perils of growing up that anyone can relate to. Then the Santa Rosa Dance Theater will put on three performances of the Nutcracker Ballet for rapt audiences from Dec. 18 to 20. And just in time for the holidays, the theater will be screening Elf and White Christmas on its big screen with plenty of popcorn and soda to keep the audience well-stocked.
