Taylor Mountain Regional Park: Set Your Sights on the Mountain’s Peak

February 12, 2015 | sack

Santa Rosa nearly overflows with nature. Oak woodlands, grassy meadows, wildlife-rich wetlands—they all reside within its boundaries. You can lay eyes on most of the area's topography from the summit of Taylor Mountain, the centerpiece of Taylor Mountain Regional Park.

You'll have a fun hike ahead of you if you decide to go all the way to the top of the peak. Taylor Mountain Regional Park has roughly 4 miles' worth of dirt trails, but they're split into two paths—one heads right up the mountain. Opt for this route if you're craving some exercise, fresh air, and sunshine. More trails are in the works—in fact, a new plan lays out 17 miles of them—so keep checking back in with Taylor Mountain Regional Park for new paths and amenities. The upcoming makeover will also include picnicking spots, campsites, and a visitor center.
