Cane Creek Regional Park: A Different View of Sonoma Valley

February 5, 2013 | sack

Santa Rosa’s Cane Creek Regional Park showcases 128 acres of public space for visitors to explore. The sprawling park, located in the Sonoma Valley foothills, offers scenic vistas of both Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park. Though less famous than nearby Redwood-forested parks, Cane Creek is home to stands of beautiful California trees like Buckeye, White Alder, Black Oak, and Maple. Visitors can enjoy the many walking, running, bicycling, and horseback riding trails throughout the park and alongside the seasonal Cane Creek, including both dirt and wheelchair accessible compact gravel trails. The park also features several wildflower meadows and overlook points where visitors can enjoy beautiful views of their natural surroundings. Open from sunrise to sunset year round, the park has restroom and picnic facilities available, and the numerous interconnected trails make it a perfect place to spend a whole day.
