South by Southwest is happening soon. Taking place throughout Austin, SXSW brings musicians, filmmakers, and leaders from the world of digital and interactive media to the capital of the Lone Star State, turning the place into one big party. It happens from March 13 through 22, and it's the occasion for a number of other fun events happening throughout the city.

For example: Lucy's Fried Chicken Revival. Presented in part by Greystar and Folio, the fifth annual version of this event happens from March 18 through March 22 at Lucy's South Congress. From noon until 7 p.m. each day, this popular Austin restaurant will complement its roster of fried chicken and Southern fare with live performances by a number of great musicians, like Mandolin Orange, The Iguanas, and Kelley Mickwee.

Love books? Austin's a great place for readers, offering a number of great bookshops including BookPeople. Located just a short drive from Folio, BookPeople is a large store with a long history, having been a fixture of Austin for decades. Austin's Chi'lantro began its life as a food truck, but that truck has recently been joined by a brick-and-mortar restaurant. The truck is still operating in locations around town (click here to see a calendar of upcoming locations!), and the sit-down eatery complements the tasty food with a chic interior boasting an exposed ceiling, colorful seating, and an airy atmosphere.

The food here is a distinctive take on Korean barbecue, and the restaurant's menu includes many of the inventive dishes that made the original truck so popular. If you visit the truck, you can choose from entrees like tacos, a burger, or kimchi quesadillas. You'll pick your protein for your dish, choosing between chicken, pork bulgogi, or tofu. Chi'lantro's Kimchi Fries might be one of the most popular orders: they're topped with kimchi, cheese, sriracha, and a special sauce and they're hearty enough to enjoy as a full meal (or to share). The restaurant's menu adds Korean fried chicken wings to the mix, as well as side dishes like chips and guac and savory fried rice balls.
