You can always count on hot coffee and a community vibe at Cafe Java. Since it opened in 1996, the local coffeehouse has offered everything you'd expect of a cute cafe—but you might not anticipate the daily specials. These are truly decadent breakfast, lunch, and dinner treats that augment the main food menu—which is already impressive all on its own.

Recent specials included pulled pork enchiladas with salsa verde and queso fresco on top, plus Spanish rice and refried beans on the side. As a breakfast treat, the chef offered churro French toast, dished out smothered in cream cheese icing and cinnamon sugar. You can also skip your meal and grab a slice of bacon-topped cheesecake drizzled in caramel. The standard menu includes sandwiches, soups, and a selection of tacos, so grab your morning cup of coffee and evening burger at the same place: Cafe Java.

That’s not the case at Cafe Java, a cafe serving delicious, high-quality brunch all day long a half-mile from Folio. The cafe has a charming atmosphere with its quirky art on the walls and other decorations hanging from the ceiling. Guests also rave about the friendly and welcoming service that really goes above and beyond.

But let’s talk about the food: all-American favorites like biscuits with gravy, eggs Benedict, and pancakes are perfectly made here. It has daily specials too like two-for-one burgers on Mondays. A very popular menu item is the Ultimate Migas, which is scrambled eggs with corn chips, chorizo, and other Mexican flavors. And as you’d expect, Cafe Java has great coffee, with drinks ranging from the regular (Iced Latte) to the fancy (Caramel con Panna).

Just a hop, skip and jump from Folio is Cafe Java (less than a half-mile away, to be exact), a popular breakfast and brunch spot that specializes in eye-opening cups of coffee and classic breakfasts.

You can start your day with a cup of coffee or tea and breakfast favorites like eggs benedict, omelettes, bacon and eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, french toast, corned beef hash, breakfast tacos, egg sandwiches and much more. The cafe also offers free WiFi to those looking to get some work done while noshing on a great breakfast.

Cafe Java opens at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday. The restaurant is open until 9 p.m. on weekdays (brunch for dinner, anyone?) and 3 p.m. on weekends.
