Ride the Slide or Float the Lazy River at Rock’N River Family Aquatic Center

Within Round Rock's popular Old Settlers Park resides the Rock'N River Family Aquatic Center, a beloved local attraction in its own right. The sprawling water park boasts more than 40,000 square feet of splashy fun, making it the perfect spot to cool off on a sweltering Texas day.

The playground promises refreshing fun for everyone in your clan with its many different rides and slides. Take a leisurely float down the Lazy River if your companions include smaller kids, or splash around at the pool. Children can rush through the tunnel showers and get soaked in the process or shoot a water cannon toward an unsuspecting playmate. Even older kids will appreciate a trip to Rock'N River Family Aquatic Center thanks to its collection of snaking slides, which send riders hurtling toward a big splash.

Fun Is Accessible for Every Child at Play for All Abilities Park

Play for All Abilities Park is arguably one of Round Rock's best parks—and one of the most inclusive. After some serious planning, the community was able to come together to create a play area that is accessible to all children. Under professional guidance, the park was designed to facilitate safe and stimulating play for children of all abilities.

Visitors to the park enjoy the wide variety of play structures, like swings, sand boxes, a miniature town (complete with an HEB grocery!) to explore, and instruments. There are plenty of areas to sit under the shade in hot Texas summers and a fence with only one entrance encloses the entire area for maximum safety. Play for All Abilities Park is open daily, from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Whether you're looking for something new and interesting to do with the family, Safari Champ offers Round Rock exceptional fun in its massive play area.

Inside, you'll find a huge jungle gym complete with slides, tubes, ladders, ropes, and more. There is also a toddler area and cafe serving sandwiches, ice cream, and coffee close to the main playscape. Parents especially appreciate Safari Champ's indoor play place during the summer to escape the oppressive Texas heat. Sign the kids up for one of the seasonal day camps, where little ones will participate in arts and crafts and story times. You can also consider purchasing a three month pass to play as much as you'd like.

Get Fit on a Dime at Clay Madsen Recreation Center

If you're looking for a convenient place to work out without breaking your wallet, look no further than the Clay Madsen Recreation Center. Supported by the city of Round Rock, Clay Madsen offers great rates on annual, quarterly, and monthly memberships for families, couples, and individuals. You get a lot of bang for your buck, too. You can take advantage of racquetball courts, free exercise classes, an indoor swimming pool, cardio and weight rooms, and locker rooms to store your belongings.

Parents will be happy to know there is a professionally supervised babysitting service on site that costs only $2 an hour. Most group exercise classes, like Zumba and water aerobics, are free for members, but you'll have to pay a little extra for personal training or the indoor boot camp training. You'll probably always find space available in the cardio and weight rooms, but classes fill up quickly, so be sure to arrive early to ensure you get a spot.

When you finish your creation, the helpful staff not only glazes your piece, but also cleans up your space. It’s no wonder that the Ceramic Lodge has become a popular spot birthday parties. Dinner and a Movie at Flix Brewhouse

Flix Brewhouse is the only first run cinema and microbrewery in the world — and it's right here in Round Rock!  

You can enjoy new movies at standard prices while dining from The Brewhouse’s full menu. There are six cinemas with stadium seating, all with wait service. <oveable tables make dining easy. You can simply order snacks and appetizers like fried pickles, or a whole dinner with burgers and chicken entrees. Their brewmaster has created six signature beers or choose from 42 others domestic and craft favorites. They also offer wine by the glass, and fun non-alcoholic options like the Dreamsicle, an orange cream soda. 

The Brewhouse has fun events like ladies night with retro flicks, and specials like $3 Texas Pint Mondays. There's a traditional box office, but it's a good idea to purchase your tickets ahead of time to reserve your spot — reserve online and you can print them when you arrive.

It also has a taste unique to the state because Round Rock Honey Company harvests its product from hives all over the state, from bees making the finest wildflower honey. Not only does it taste good, honey is also good at preventing local allergies! And it’s easy to find at local farmers markets, selected grocery stores and even online for delivery to your home. You can get a bottle as small as eight ounces or as large as a gallon. The containers are even good, with the large bottles equipped with a spout and made of glass so they can be re-used or recycled!

Outdoor Activities For Everyone At Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park

Old Settlers Park is the centerpiece of Round Rock’s parks. This 570 acre, open-space park has a long list of amenities and something for everyone. Its sports complexes accommodate many sports and offer more than the typical soccer field and baseball diamond. Old Setters Park has tennis courts, a disc golf course, a cricket field, shuffle board, sand volleyball courts, horseshoes box, and more! Seven playgrounds and numerous picnic tables and grills make a great family outing. Rock’N River Family Aquatic Center is also located at Old Settlers Park. This municipal water park is a popular spot to cool off on a hot day and features slides, water cannons, geysers and more. For those that enjoy more passive recreation, there is a large stocked pond and 3.3 miles of paved trails around the park.
