Juniors Grill and Icehouse: A Laid Back Round Rock Pub

Juniors Grill and Icehouse is a laid back pub in downtown Round Rock known for its live music scene. Six nights a week there is entertainment, often both inside and outside on their back deck. The menu offers standard pub-food and regulars love the large, juicy burgers.  Try the “Angry Matt” with bacon, blue cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions. You can choose from several sides, including shoestring or steak fries, and hand made, thick-cut onion rings. Juniors is a great place for beer and snacking. Regulars love the fried pickles: sliced instead of spears, and perfectly crisp. And, the homemade salsa is quite popular.  Stop by before 7 p.m. and get happy hour pricing, including half off already low-priced appetizers. Round Rock Donuts: Not Just Donuts

Since 1926, Round Rock Donuts has been a Texas tradition with their famous golden doughy delights. Their signature donut — glazed, warm and Texas-sized — has been featured on national TV food shows. Other donut options are simple and traditional — don’t expect any fancy flavors or sprinkles. In addition to the glazed, cake, and cream filled donuts, the bakery also offers a variety of other baked goods like danishes, fritters, muffins and coffee cakes.  Customers rave about the cream filled eclairs. And though Round Rock Donuts is a famous area landmark, it hasn’t gone to their heads — everything is reasonably priced and the lobby has a homey feel with stone walls and wood paneling. 

In a hurry or don't want to be tempted? Use the drive-thru. Round Rock Donuts also creates custom cakes for birthdays, graduations, weddings and other special occasions.

Shipley Do-Nuts: A Local Classic

Shipley Do-Nuts has been serving sweet confections for over 76 years, and this location in Round Rock is known for always have fresh products. If you like to start your day with a sweet, Shipley’s has delectable sweet doughnuts of all kinds. If you prefer savory, they also serve kolaches – regulars recommend the sausage and cheese. This bakeshop is airy and the staff are friendly. Kids enjoy watching the doughnut making process through an inside window looks into the kitchen. There’s even a drive through if you’re in a hurry.
