Experience the ‘Magic’ of Lafayette’s Brookwood Park
November 4, 2014 | sack
For the Lafayette locals who have frequented Brookwood Park for years, it's more than just a 6.3-acre stretch of land. The park holds sentimental value for some—especially its grove of black locust trees. Somehow isolated from the playground just beyond them, the trees have an almost magical appeal.
Even if you don't claim an emotional tie to the trees, you'll likely appreciate the shade cast by not only the black locusts, but also some freshly planted maple trees and others sprinkled around the park. The playground has recently been renovated, so kids can climb and play while parents set out lunch or dinner at one of the picnics tables nearby.
The park is rarely crowded, according to regular visitors, and makes for a good spot to take the dog for a walk.
