Berkeley Rose Garden: A Gorgeous East Bay Park

February 3, 2015 | sack

The Berkeley Rose Garden is a natural treasure in the heart of the East Bay. It might just be one of the top rose gardens in all of Northern California, and it's located just a short trip from Lafayette Oaks. First opened in 1937, Berkeley's Rose Garden is a lovely spot for a solitary stroll, a pleasant date, or an outing with friends and family. Numerous trails and pathways criss-cross the space, and on a clear day, you might even be treated to a view of the San Francisco Bay! Spring's the prime time to see the roses: around 250 varieties of the flower are on site here. As you'd imagine, the Garden's a popular spot for weddings!

On site you'll find facilities like public restrooms, along with stairs, trails, and more. The Berkeley Rose Garden's open from dawn til dusk almost every day, and it's free to visit! Check the website for much more information on this gorgeous urban park.
