Palace of Fine Arts: Beauty at the Marina

July 10, 2015 | sack

In the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge, history and beauty live at the Palace of Fine Arts. The Palace was originally built for the Panama-Pacific Exposition in 1915, and was rebuilt in 1965. With its lagoon, walkway and gardens, many residents come here to photograph and to be photographed for weddings and special occasions. And best of all, touring the rotunda and walkway is totally free! Part of the Palace was also rebuilt to become a theatre, which presents a calendar of eclectic shows, year round. Bring your car – there’s usually plenty of free parking. Come into the theater and check out the beautiful statue wall. And when you see a show, you’ll always be able to get a good seat. What a great way to spend a day or evening!
