Interact with Local Animals Around Lafayette Oaks at the Lindsay Wildlife Museum
April 6, 2016 | sack
Connect with wildlife at the Lindsay Wildlife Museum, a unique museum that’s been around since 1955. There’s plenty for both adults and children alike to appreciate at this Walnut Creek attraction.
Starting at 10:30 a.m., little ones can pet animals like rabbits, turtles, and even a rat during this interactive time, which teaches kids the difference between wild and domestic animals. Want to get outside? The outdoor exhibit hall lets families enjoy fresh air among California’s beloved oak and redwood trees, and visitors can even watch hawks and eagles stretch their wings during their daily exercise routines.
If you have a future veterinarian on your hands, be sure to spend some time behind the scenes at the wildlife animal hospital. More than 5,500 wild animals receive care here every year, and the theater allows visitors to see how the animals are cared for when injured. Check website for hours, as the theater is not open daily.
