Get Out and Hike on a Warm, Sunny Day at the Lafayette Reservoir

If there’s nothing you love more than getting out in the great outdoors in the warmer weather, Lafayette Reservoir should certainly be on your radar. This recreation area is a place where locals are invited to jog, hike, boat, fish, and picnic year-round.

Hiking is the most popular activity in this location, and there are two main trails visitors can take at the reservoir. The Lakeside Nature Trail is paved and goes on for 2.7 miles, while the Rim Trail is unpaved and stretches for 4.7 miles. There’s also a total of 928 acres of open space for hiking, wildlife viewing, photography, and enjoying beautiful vistas. You can even your dog as long as you keep it on a leash!

Parking is $7 per day at the Lafayette Reservoir, and you can purchase annual parking passes at the visitor center.
