Across the state, you’ll often find massive parks governing the majority of the land; however, tucked away in the corners of some of California’s most quaint towns are smaller, more relaxing and enjoyable public parks, like Lafayette’s Brook Street Park.
Brook Street Park is a modest public park located one block west of Moraga Road, nestled into a residential, downtown neighborhood. This small park is Lafayette’s first neighborhood park. It is a popular spot for picnic lunches, and it has also garnered the attention of families with young children because of its imaginative Pirate Ship fully equipped with a top deck, steering wheel, climbing ropes, and port holes. Brook Street Park’s play equipment area also has a fence that keeps the children safely inside the park at all times.
