Plan a Picnic With Food From Sideboard

May 23, 2018 | sack

Remember those picturesque picnic scenes that you’ve seen in old movies? Well, Sideboard makes those scenes happen in real life, and without any special catering process. While this neighborhood kitchen and cafe has plenty of dining room seating, if you want to have a picnic, the staff will happily lend you a basket and a picnic blanket so you can eat your meal on the grass at Lafayette Park.

These picnics have drawn a lot of attention from locals, but they aren’t the only special events at this neighborhood kitchen and cafe. Friday fish fry nights give locals a chance to build community through shared mealtimes, while Wednesday nights in the summer give local artists and musicians a chance to shine with the plaza concert series. Don’t forget that Sideboard is open earlier in the day, too. You can stop by every morning for a locally-roasted coffee and freshly baked pastries. Regulars suggest you try the cheddar bacon scones or the yogurt parfait.
