Sip on a Specialty Mojito at Havana

June 29, 2018 | sack

Mojitos are their own category on the menu at Havana, which you might expect of a restaurant whose name heavily hints at its Cuban roots. If you stop by Havana on Mojito Monday, you can try any of the mojitos by the pitcher or the glass for half the price. That includes mojitos infused with real fruit, like the honeydew basil, and signature specialty mojitos like the Paloma, which features tequila, elderflower liquor, pink grapefruit juice, lime, mint, and ginger beer.

Don't stop with a mojito—try some of the tapas, too. Build a dinner to share with Cuban dishes such as twice-fried plantains with pineapple salsa, plump grilled shrimp drizzled with cilantro-lime sauce, and mojo-glazed chicken wings with citrus soy sauce. If you're too hungry to share dinner, order one of the full entrees. Try the seared ahi tuna encrusted with a cumin-centric seasoning blend or the ropa vieja, a traditional Cuban dish of braised beef with tomato, onions, and peppers.
