The Olde San Francisco Creamery: Made-From-Scratch Ice Cream and Toppings

January 28, 2019 | sack

When it comes to ice cream, The Olde San Francisco Creamery does things the old-fashioned way. Its staff makes their own ice cream from scratch, along with fixings like hot fudge, butterscotch, and caramel. They’re inspired by the early ice cream fountain owners of San Fran, who did the same thing starting back in the ’50s.

Treat yourself to one of the eatery’s old-fashioned sundaes, like the Black and Tan. It features a foundation of vanilla and toasted almond ice cream drizzled with caramel and hot fudge, and capped off with whipped cream, chopped almonds, and a single maraschino cherry. You can also build your own sundae or cone with scoops of coffee cookie dough or golden caramel Oreo ice cream. If you want to make a full meal out of it, sit down for a burger or a plate of pasta before your treat at The Olde San Francisco Creamery.
