Situated on Walnut Creek’s Bonanza Street, Ramen Hiroshi is a quaint Japanese eatery dishing up classic ramen bowls along with a handful of appetizers. Start with the Takoyaki, a street-food staple popular in Japan consisting of fried octopus dressed with Japanese mayonnaise and a thick Worcestershire sauce. The menu includes five different kinds of ramen: Hiroshi Tonkotsu, Shio, Shoyu, Miso, and Tantanmen. The Hiroshi Tonkotsu Ramen is their signature soup loaded with braised pork belly, marinated soft-boiled egg, lotus root, black mushrooms, seasoned bamboo shoots, green onion, and red ginger. The dish is served with thin, straight noodles to compliment the rich broth.
The storefront features a handful of tables inside, as well as a bar where you can watch the chefs in action. Yelpers rave about the hefty portions, friendly and fast service, and reasonable prices. Street parking is readily available, and there is a nearby public parking lot that is free for the first hour.
