Alongside kimchi and bibimbap, Korea’s barbecue is its most famous culinary export. At Gen Korean BBQ House in Concord, you can witness the continued evolution of the cuisine, as the kitchen infuses traditional Korean dishes with novel and intriguing flavors. That means Hawaiian-style pork belly and crispy Cajun-spiced fried chicken sit on the menu along with classic Korean dubu soup and beef bulgogi.

Though Gen Korean BBQ has made a name for its all-you-can-eat lunches and dinner specials, the restaurant doesn’t feel like an ordinary buffet. The ultra-modern dining room is spacious and attractive, and the service staff gets high marks on sites like Yelp and Urbanspoon. Lunch will set you back less than $20 during the week, while the dinner and weekend price is $25. Weekends are always pretty busy, so be prepared to wait at the bar for a bit if you’re visiting during peak times. If you have a large party, reservations are a must.
