Get in the Holiday Spirit at the 2016 Austin Trail of Lights

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department decided that the city of Austin deserved something special around the holidays in 1965, so it launched the Yule Fest, a celebration of the season. Now more than 50 years later, the tradition continues but as the Austin Trail of Lights.

The Trail of Lights consists of more than 40 stunning light displays that are sure to get anyone who sees them into the holiday spirit. Along the entire trail, more than 2 million lights shine against the dark Austin sky. Along with performances and other seasonally themed activities, there's a lot to do when you visit the Austin Trail of Lights, so show up when it starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free from December 10th to the 16th and $3 on other evenings.
