If you've never heard of a 5D rollercoaster before, then it's time to take a trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Its X2 coaster has racked up more than 400 Yelp reviews. That's because in lieu of stationary seats, X2's seats rotate 360 degrees, creating a totally new type of drop: the face-down, head-first plunge. Riders soar 200 feet up into the air while lights, music, and sound effects command every ounce of their attention. Then they race down the track at 76 miles per hour, twisting and flipping as they go.
Rollercoasters like X2 are the most popular rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain (don't miss Tatsu or Goliath, either). But the amusement park has rides to accommodate all ages and preferences. If you have little ones along, you can join them on slower paced family rides or let them conquer a small coaster by themselves. Six Flags' theater troupe also puts on productions starring well-known cartoon faces (think Tweety Bird and Bugs Bunny).
