While tacos are fairly easy to find in just about any American city, locating authentic Mexican fare is a bit more difficult. Here in San Antonio, regulars love Las Kekas Restaurant when they’re craving authentic Mexican cuisine. This casual eatery looks like a house from the outside, but inside cozy wooden tables covered with colorful tablecloths offer the perfect spot to enjoy a plate of huevos rancheros with family or friends.
The menu includes hard-to-find Mexican offerings prepared just like they are in homes south of the border, including chicken mole, kekas, huevos motulenos and fresh, flavorful pico de gallo to with it all. Sugary churros and light, fluffy plates of flan are on the menu for dessert. Unlike many typical Mexican eateries, Las Kekas offers a traditional breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. Diners can enjoy omelets, machacado con huevos, or even a full breakfast buffet filled with morning fare.
