Cornell Museum at Old School Square: History and Art in Delray Beach

Cornell Museum at Old School Square offers Delray Beach exhibitions on crafts, pop culture and fine art. The museum is housed in a beautifully restored 1913 Delray Elementary School building. The museum has five rooms that feature changing exhibitions. During your visit you might learn about the history of the kite or see Elvis' rise to stardom through a photography exhibition. Take advantage of the museum's weekly guided tours with docents as well as the regularly held lectures. If you have children with you, there is an interactive children's gallery on the second floor that should keep them busy for hours.

The Cornell Museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Call beforehand to learn more about the current exhibitions and lectures.

Children’s Science Explorium: Science is Fun in Boca Raton

Located in Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, the Explorium offers kids of all ages and interests a place to play and learn. Parents will value the educational aspect of the Explorium while kids will love exploring the interactive exhibits. Whether you’re taking a group or just have just one kiddo in tow everyone will love spending time at the Explorium. Some recent and current favorite exhibits include a study of popular toys, as well as a collection of famous robots past and present and a peek into how common household items work. The Explorium even offers programs to foster interest in science among children of all ages. A range of topics are covered as well, including biology, chemistry, earth science and physics. Little scientists in training can a get jump on their peers by learning what makes the earth tick. An afternoon spent at the Children’s Science Explorium might just leave you and your kin impressed by the wonders of science.

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens: Tranquil Beauty

For almost 40 years, The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens has been providing visitors with a serene break from the hectic routine. At the museum, exhibits of Japanese paintings, prints, drawing, sculpture, and other artifacts rotate throughout the year. The Gardens are a lovely complement to the Museum, comprised of six distinct gardens that are each inspired by traditional Japanese themes. You can even learn about Japanese traditions by attending an authentic tea ceremony. The Gardens also make a relaxing as well as gorgeous venue to hold weddings and other events. There's a cafe that serves good food and wine, and a gift shop where you can find unique gifts. The Morikami Museum and Gardens is a great spot to experience tranquil beauty.
