Within Round Rock's popular Old Settlers Park resides the Rock'N River Family Aquatic Center, a beloved local attraction in its own right. The sprawling water park boasts more than 40,000 square feet of splashy fun, making it the perfect spot to cool off on a sweltering Texas day.

The playground promises refreshing fun for everyone in your clan with its many different rides and slides. Take a leisurely float down the Lazy River if your companions include smaller kids, or splash around at the pool. Children can rush through the tunnel showers and get soaked in the process or shoot a water cannon toward an unsuspecting playmate. Flix Brewhouse: Beer, Burgers and First-Run Flicks

Flix Brewhouse isn't really like any other theater-restaurant hybrid. Each of its locations (there are three throughout Texas) boasts its very own microbrewery in-house. So beers come fresh from the brew room, and you're welcome to sample any of them before deciding on just one. There are nine house-brewed beers available, plus 38 more on tap.

Order one as soon as you sit down in one of the stadium "dining rooms." A server will stroll up to grab your drink request, then step back and let you look over the menu. Pizzas, salads, burgers, and even tacos are offered, not to mention decadent desserts such as bourbon pecan pie and warm peach galettes. Dig into your food and sip your brews while you watch the first-run movie splashed across the screen. Flix Brewhouse enlists the most contemporary technology to ensure crystal clear picture and sound at every screening.

The Antique Gallery of Round Rock: Floor to Ceiling Vintage Finds

Everything old is new again at the Antique Gallery of Round Rock. Located on South Interstate 35, there’s a little bit of everything. Make sure that you give yourself some time to look around; there’s 30,000 square feet of finds! With the eclectic mix of vendors, you will always find something unique and interesting. Furniture hunters will be able to furnish any home with different styles. There are walls filled with artwork and shelves stacked with knick-knacks and glassware. Vintage toy enthusiast can always come upon something cool, and there’s even a section lined with cowboy boots and antique clothes. If you need some help, don’t fret. The helpful staff will be more than happy to look through the files to see if they have what you want. The Antique Gallery is open every day until 6 p.m.

Fresh Seafood and Cold Drafts at Deckhand Oyster Bar

Next time you want to go out to watch the big game, consider Deckhand Oyster Bar in Round Rock. This casual bar is a great place to kick back with a pitcher of beer and a group of friends.  The menu features fresh, casual seafood favorites like fried catfish and crawfish poboys.  Oysters are shucked in front of you, and served on the half shell.  Regulars love the gumbo!  There are several Asian items on the menu too – like tom yum soup, a sweet and sour seafood soup with a little kick. If you order oysters, try the thai sauce, which is a unique complement to their mild flavor. Prices are reasonable and get even lower during happy hour from 3-6 p.m.  The Deckhand serves beer in frosted mugs, but don’t expect craft brews – it’s mostly American favorites. The Thai Tea is a tasty non-alcoholic alternative.

Dinner and a Movie at Flix Brewhouse

Flix Brewhouse is the only first run cinema and microbrewery in the world — and it's right here in Round Rock!  

You can enjoy new movies at standard prices while dining from The Brewhouse’s full menu. There are six cinemas with stadium seating, all with wait service. <oveable tables make dining easy. You can simply order snacks and appetizers like fried pickles, or a whole dinner with burgers and chicken entrees. Their brewmaster has created six signature beers or choose from 42 others domestic and craft favorites. They also offer wine by the glass, and fun non-alcoholic options like the Dreamsicle, an orange cream soda. 

The Brewhouse has fun events like ladies night with retro flicks, and specials like $3 Texas Pint Mondays. There's a traditional box office, but it's a good idea to purchase your tickets ahead of time to reserve your spot — reserve online and you can print them when you arrive.
