Stomp’s Burger Joint: Hearty Burgers Served With Western Flair

Housed within an unpretentious, Western-style shack, Stomp’s Burger Joint has been a neighborhood favorite for juicy burgers for years.

Here, meals are best preceded with an order of fried jalapenos or fried pickles, both served with classic ranch dressing. At Stomp's, the batter for these fried finger foods is made in-house. The burgers run the gamut from traditional styles to more interesting combinations. Try the Stomper with two beef patties, refried beans, guacamole, and sour cream for a Tex-Mex twist. The Panhandler is another popular choice; this burger soaks a beef patty in hot wing sauce and adds crumbled blue cheese on a toasted bun. The sides are also very tasty, with regulars recommending the “split order” of half fries and half onion rings.

We hope everyone has a happy and safe Labor Day!

Try the Stuffed Avocado at Jimmy Changas

There's no shortage of Tex-Mex eateries in League City, but locals know that one of the very best is Jimmy Changas. This eatery lands solidly on the "Tex" side of the border, with dishes that are suited for the American palate, but the food is quite good.

When you walk in the front door, you’ll notice a soft serve ice machine in the entrance, which is known to captivate the kiddos. Get to the counter and you’ll have quite a menu to peruse. Jimmy Changas’ signature dish is stuffed avocado, a huge, creamy fruit breaded and fried with your choice of fajita and cheese. Other items well worth ordering include the chimichangas, especially the Bad Daddy, a huge flour tortilla stuffed with fajita beef and cheese and fried, then drowned in cheese and sauce. It’s a serious mouthful.

It's worth noting that Jimmy Changas gives back to the community by supporting a number of local nonprofits with food donations.
