The Boys Farmers Market: Everything You Need to Make the Perfect Meal

October 9, 2014 2:35 pm

The Boys Farmers Market is many shops in one. If you're feeling carnivorous, you can pick up a steak from the butcher shop or try the famous "Poppy's homemade sausage." If you would like to indulge in some cheese and wine, you can head over to the cheese shop where you will have your pick of domestic and imported cheeses. Then stop over in the wine department to pick from a vast selection of reds and whites. Don't forget about dessert! The bakery sells freshly made cakes and cookies. The Boys Farmers Market also offers some of the best produce in Delray Beach. Customers love how fresh and reasonable the fruits and vegetables are. The market is small so it can get cramped. Many recommend early afternoon weekday shopping to avoid the crowds both in the store and in the parking lot.

The Boys Farmers Market is open Mondays through Saturdays from 8:30 in the morning to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hit the Spot with Rice’s Thai Cuisine

September 25, 2014 2:34 pm

A relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, generous portions, and inexpensive prices all combine to make Rice a favorite with Boynton Beach locals. In fact, this Thai restaurant is busy enough that reservations are always recommended—and are required for large groups.

When you sit down with the menu, you'll see a wide variety of delectable appetizers to start your meal. Try the grilled chicken satay, infused with a hint of coconut and ideal for dipping in the accompanying coconut and peanut sauces. Or order a cup of Rice's famous coconut soup, studded with mushrooms, tomatoes, and cilantro. One Yelp reviewer says the coconut soup is "beyond delicious" and reports that she sometimes requests a larger bowl and makes it her entree.

The more traditional Thai entrees are also a good choice at Rice. Try the iconic pad Thai noodles or the crispy spicy basil over rice. Whatever you order, you can be sure that each plate will arrive on the table as a work of art, the food beautifully arranged and garnished with colorful flowers and hand-carved vegetables.
