Two weeks ago we wrote that maintenance isn't just hammers and paintbrushes, it's proactive prevention. Keeping with the theme, let's discuss toilets.

We all know what they're for, of course. Castle reminds our residents to use them only for that purpose and flush away toilet tissue. Nothing else.

We don't mean to sound stern or simple-minded. But paper towels, wrappers and other rubbish will quickly clog pipes and lead to messy, embarrassing and costly results.

A toilet is a toilet and a garbage can is a garbage can. Remember that and we can all rest easy.

We live in the Bay Area. It gets misty, foggy and wet. And let's face it, even the best buildings around here tend to "breathe" a little too well. That's why Castle encourages our residents to always use the bathroom exhaust fan.

And when we say "encourage," we mean it's a responsibility. Reducing moisture helps fight mold and mildew growth, reducing our maintenance costs, preserving the resident's security deposit, and keeping the whole community happy and healthy.
