Keeping a Vendor List

April 6, 2012 7:30 pm

To help our property managers get fast, cost-effective service, Castle keeps a master list of reliable vendors.

This is a tool, not a requirement. As long as services are in line with our standards and budget, we let our employees choose who they want to work with. But in a pinch, or when new people join the team, we always know who will get the job done.

Everyone we do business with is licensed, insured, and has a proven track record. And whenever possible, we stick with local entrepreneurs. It lets us know who’s doing the work—and it helps the community thrive, too.

That’s our business. That’s the Castle Difference.

What Happens to Your Family Business?

March 28, 2012 9:44 am

Many of our properties have been family-owned for generations. When the founding matriarch or patriarch passes away, shares are often divided between their children or grandchildren, with one person taking on a management role. This is a sensitive situation, because it creates questions of disclosure. Is the bidding process fair? Is the property up to code, and is maintenance being done cost-effectively? Even the most conscientious owner/operator will face these questions from family members, and in the interest of preserving peace at the dinner table, they turn to us. Castle doesn't just make the business an open book for shareholders; we manage it in the tradition it was founded, and position it to grow for generations to come.
