This Kingwood-area restaurant is proud that everything on its menu is made from scratch and that nothing comes from a can or jar. In fact, that's the basis of the restaurant's culinary philosophy: authentic Cajun dishes made from scratch using lovingly preserved family recipes.

Regular customers say the seasoned crawfish etouffee shouldn't be missed, and that the po'boy sandwiches are a full meal. Dishes are reasonably priced, but to get the best value for your money, try ordering one of the "platter" meals. You'll get a generous serving of whatever meat you choose (shrimp, catfish, or pork, for example) accompanied by hushpuppies and your choice of fries, red beans, or corn on the cob.

If you love Italian food, J. Christopher's Pizza Pasta is sure to hit the spot. Since opening its doors in 1980, this Kingwood restaurant has been bringing all the best-loved classics of Italian cuisine together onto one menu. Order the house-made lasagna, featuring a double layer of ricotta cheese (and just might be even better than your mother's lasagna), or try the pesto ravioli, served in a mouth-watering marinara cream sauce. The pizzas at J. Christopher’s are always piping hot and full of cheesy goodness and can be ordered in both thin crust and deep dish styles.

For something a bit more unusual, dig into a creative import from Chicago's Italian community: penne pasta smothered in chili and topped with cheddar cheese. If you like it, keep your eyes open and you'll spot a number of other Chicago influences on the menu at J. Christopher's, including the sausage, which is imported directly from Chicago each week!
