Since 1995, Humble City Cafe has been serving up homestyle Southern comfort food. In a historic building in Humble’s downtown, the rustic country decor matches the food. Diners love the complementary skillet corn bread that comes with every meal. The chicken fried steak and the catfish with cornmeal breading are customer favorites. It’s also a popular spot for breakfast which is served until 1 p.m.; expect a short wait on the weekend but you can pass the time browsing their country store gift shop. Pappas Seafood House: Good Seafood and Good Service in Humble

Pappas Seafood House, part of the family owned and operated chain of Pappas restaurants, serves reliable and tasty dishes in a welcoming atmosphere. At the Humble location, you can choose from fresh shucked oysters, baked oysters like the spinach and feta, and from a variety of gumbos, bisques and chowders.

Main dishes include fried seafood dishes served with French fries and coleslaw, étoufée and a selection of fresh fishes flown in daily. Diners praise the crawfish bisque and the crab cake appetizer. They keep going back for the seafood that's perfectly fried in cornmeal batter. The people at Pappas are there to please and diners can't get over the excellent service they receive every time.
