Oli’s Fashion Cuisine: Upscale Fare Inspired by Wellington’s Agricultural History

Long before Oli's Fashion Cuisine had even been conceived by co-founders Juan Gando and Dustin Parfitt (also the head chef), Wellington wasn't a town. It was essentially a massive strawberry patch called Flying Cow Ranch. That is, until New York accountant Charles Oliver Wellington bought 18,000 acres of the farm, what would become his namesake Wellington.

The owners of Oli's Fashion Cuisine also took their restaurant's name from Wellington's founder. They pay homage to the area's rich agricultural history by sourcing their ingredients locally—without sacrificing the high quality of Chef Dustin's so-called "fashion cuisine." He and Gando define fashion cuisine as a modern atmosphere as much as a style of fare, so you can expect both a contemporary setting and menu at Oli's. Regulars strongly suggest that you try the tuna tacos, the hearty beer cheese soup, and the buttermilk chicken.

Kapow! Noodle Bar: Make a Positive Impact on the Environment Through Late-Night Noshing

Kapow! Noodle Bar makes you feel good about your positive impact on the environment as you enjoy its noodle dishes. This may sound a bit strange, but Kapow! is an entirely unique eatery in the South Florida restaurant scene. The hip, modern restaurant serves Asian fusion fare with a side of handcrafted cocktails, and it uses sustainable practices to protect the environment, as well.

Korean barbecue, ramen, and pad Thai all make an appearance on the menu, as do tacos and crème brulee to mix up the mostly Asian-inspired dishes. It is fairly small inside, but with a long wooden bar, intimate dining tables, and even an outdoor patio, guests never feel uncomfortable.

If you’re in the mood for something a bit more adventurous than your usual watering hole, Kapow! Noodle Bar is a must-try.

Don’t Miss the Chicken Tenders and Honey Croissants at Cheddar’s

As the world rapidly evolved around it in the years since 1979, Cheddar's remained largely unchanged. Sure, its interior may look contemporary, but its comfort food recipes have remained the same since that first year in the late '70s. That was the year when founders Doug Rogers and Aubrey Good took a leap of faith in opening the neighborhood restaurant.

Today, you'll find Cheddar's restaurants all over the country, including one in Wellington. Its menu still contains the same Southern eats that made Cheddar's so popular in the first place. Wellington diners highly recommend the warm honey butter croissants, which accompany each salad. When it comes to the main course, try the shepherd's pie with ground beef and veggies or the chicken tenders. The latter come a few different ways. Order the chicken tenders over a salad, in a wrap, or paired with shrimp, ribs, or steak.

Don’t Miss the Thai Doughnuts at Orient Garden

"Bring you everyone you know!" gushes one Yelper in her glowing review of Orient Garden. She's not alone. This restaurant may not have an official website or even a particularly stunning dining room, but it does have a lot of clout among diners in Wellington. This particular reviewer points to the red coconut curry with shrimp and the Thai basil squid as her favorite picks on the menu, but it's large enough to offer something for everyone.

Another customer gives high praise to the Thai doughnuts, and some are fans of the volcano chicken with spicy garlic chili sauce. Just be careful if you order one of the fiery entrees because Orient Garden has a reputation for crafting really authentic Thai faire—meaning chefs don't go easy on the spice. Still, the other flavors are complex enough to stand their ground even in the face of some fire. So grab a fork and dig in at Orient Garden.
