Farmer’s Table: Food Fresh from Florida Farmers

Farmer's Table's head chef Wilson Wieggel doesn't like to work with ingredients unless he knows exactly where he comes from. Thanks to the farm-to-table philosophy of the restaurant's owners, he never has to. Chef Wilson and his team receive ingredients from farms around the Boca Raton region that use healthy and sustainable practices, so they know they're using the highest quality produce and meats available.

That's how they ensure that each of their dishes are both nutritious and flavorful. According to Yelp reviewers, they really hit the mark with the Buddha bowl. It contains your choice of shrimp, chicken, or spiced tofu with stir-fried veggies, udon noodles, and a gingered egg. The shrimp and roasted corn flatbread is another popular dish, this one piled with sharp cheddar cheese, red peppers, organic spinach, and chili-lime sauce—you can sub in vegan Daiya cheese for the cheddar.

Farmer's Table serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, so stop by any time for a healthy, local meal.

Don’t Miss the Tableside Guacamole at Rocco’s Tacos in Boca Raton

The quality of its guacamole is a good measure of any Mexican restaurant, and Rocco's Tacos' guac is off the charts according to Yelp reviewers. That could be thanks to the fact that servers prepare it fresh—extremely fresh. They whip it up right next to your table while you watch. Although it's a bit pricey at $12.50, it comes with Rocco's house-made chips and can be customized to your preferred level of heat.

Don't fill up on the guacamole, though. Rocco's Tacos lives up to its name with an impressive list of tacos, as well as other classic Mexican fare. Try the tacos stuffed with pulled chicken, slow-roasted pork, or spicy ground beef if you like traditional cuisine. For something different, order one of the inventive "street tacos." Your options include the Korean with hoisin barbecue beef and kimchi, the Brooklyn with a medley of pork and chorizo, or the more traditional Mercado with grilled chicken and yellow tomato pico. Rocco's Tacos also serves salads and tortas, enchliadas, and some signature house specialties—not to mention margaritas and other libations.

Kapow! Noodle Bar: Make a Positive Impact on the Environment Through Late-Night Noshing

Kapow! Noodle Bar makes you feel good about your positive impact on the environment as you enjoy its noodle dishes. This may sound a bit strange, but Kapow! is an entirely unique eatery in the South Florida restaurant scene. The hip, modern restaurant serves Asian fusion fare with a side of handcrafted cocktails, and it uses sustainable practices to protect the environment, as well.

Korean barbecue, ramen, and pad Thai all make an appearance on the menu, as do tacos and crème brulee to mix up the mostly Asian-inspired dishes. It is fairly small inside, but with a long wooden bar, intimate dining tables, and even an outdoor patio, guests never feel uncomfortable.

If you’re in the mood for something a bit more adventurous than your usual watering hole, Kapow! Noodle Bar is a must-try.

Casa Tequila: Where Margaritas Take Center Stage

Aptly named Casa Tequila makes the margarita the star of the show every night at dinner. Fresh, frosty margs come in massive glass goblets, salt around the rim, and brimming with ice. The margaritas wash down authentic Mexican cuisine, the same stuff that launched Casa Tequila into local fame back in 1989.

Bite into the fajita burrito, stuffed with rice and beans, cheese, and either steak or chicken smothered in the house's signature sauce. On top, gooey cheese, burrito sauce, and tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, and sour cream create another tasty layer. You can also chow down on fish tacos, seafood enchiladas, or fully loaded ceviche. Regulars, however, would probably recommend the fajitas, served fresh from a sizzling skillet. They're filled with your choice of fixings: veggies, shrimp, chicken, or a combination of meats. For something lighter, opt for the fajita salad. It transforms the same ingredients into a greener option.

There’s Something Special About the Sorbet at TwentyTwenty Grille

It's not every day that you find a restaurant whose founders are on the front lines, but that's the case at TwentyTwenty Grille. Founded by a husband-wife pair of well-trained chefs, Ron and Rhonda Wiesheit, TwentyTwenty Grille has a slew of reviews that mention Chef Ron and Rhonda (who often seats guests) by name. Together, the duo created a menu that incorporates local ingredients into fresh, modern American fare.

Each meal consists of three courses, but it's what comes in between each course that has many Yelp reviewers talking. Chef Ron and his team craft sorbets to cleanse the palate from unusual ingredients. One customer recollects a concoction of kale, guava, and cumin; another notes that his sorbet contained bell pepper, butternut squash, and cilantro. They're the perfect way to transition from a first course like the duck tacos or pan-roasted diver scallops to the "middle" course, perhaps Vietnamese Chilean sea bass bun rieu or grilled New York strip steak. Save some room for the third course: dessert. Sticky toffee pudding cake and chocolate truffle torte are both on the menu.
